TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

(Supersedes TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment)

The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the qualification required by trainers and assessors to teach and assess in TAFE and private Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

The TAA40104 has been superseded by TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This is a normal part of the ongoing development of Vocational Education and Training in Australia, each Training Package is continuously enhanced and continually improved.

What this means is that in less than 12 months all RTOs (including HBA) will no longer be allowed by law to offer the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Qualification.  The Australian Government has released a new standard for trainers and assessors which is the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

HBA has a reputation for excellence in Delivering the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, that is why we are one of the first RTOs in Australia to be given permission by the Australian Government to deliver the new TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. The new TAE40110 qualification holds the same significance as the TAA40104; it is Nationally Recognised and will be recognised under the Australian Quality Training Framework by RTOs and employers throughout Australia.

How do we Deliver?

HBA delivers using a flexible and Blended Delivery approach which combines several delivery, assessment, and support approaches including:

  • Initial intensive workshop of 3 days where intensive delivery of underpinning knowledge is undertaken as well as several short delivery, design, and assessment tasks.
  • Free ongoing monthly training and review days where the learners have input to the subjects and materials covered. The learner can attend as many of these days as needed for their individual learning needs.
  • Ongoing email and phone help desk support where the learner communicates directly with trainers/assessors for flexible tuition, guidance, and feedback.
  • Additional 1/1 face to face assistance can be booked for individual learners where HBA feels this is appropriate to meet the learner's needs.
  • HBA's Online Discussion Forum where learners can source resources and discuss TAA40104 with other learners, facilitators and assessors and engage in group learning and cooperation.
  • 2 workbooks which include questions and project tasks with delivery and assessment activities and the development of learning support material for your circumstances.
We also offer weekend TAE programs, along with intensive 7 day full-delivery programs where we guide you through the assessments and you will achieve your Cert IV at the end of the 7 days (as long as you put the work in, attend all 7 days and are deemed competent!) We have also introduced night classes (in North Sydney only).

Upon enrolling in our Full Delivery you will be sent the learner guide and a Unit of Competency. You will be required to study and understand this material prior to attending the first day of the course in order that you may complete within the given time-frame. Learners will need to achieve certain milestones whilst completing the required assessment work.  Should these milestones not be achieved you will be required to undertake certain assessment work in your own time. You must be found Competent in all elements in order to be awarded your TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

Minimum Full Delivery Course Requirements

If you are planning on attending an intensive Full Delivery course, please be advised that we do require you to have the following-

A good grasp of the English Language, both written and verbal.
An ability to perform, as a minimum, the following tasks on a computer:

•    Internet Navigation skills
•    Ability to use Email
•    Knowledge of the ‘Cut and Paste’ function
•    Understanding of Microsoft Word
•    Knowledge of the ‘Save’ and ‘Open Document’ functions

Without this knowledge, you may find the course difficult to complete. We would recommend you consider a Self Paced course which will allow you more time to complete and develop any additional skills you may require.

Everyone's circumstances and needs may be different so the elements above can be tailored to best suit these individual needs and ensure that each learner has the best support possible.

How Long?

Because we have a blended model where you complete some of the assignments at home or work (or all of it if you are Self-Paced) it is impossible to give an exact figure. Your learning style, past experience and level of education can affect how long it takes you and we give you as much time as you need to complete. To give you a clearer picture, here are the 2 ends of the spectrum. An experienced TAFE teacher may well complete the workbooks after the face to face element of our blended delivery in between 60 and 70 hours. A person who has never trained or assessed or has not studied for some time may well take 200 hours. It is likely you will fall somewhere between these 2 points. Depending on individual background, experience, and access to resources the total hours needed to achieve TAE40110 may vary, but all learners need to meet the benchmarks detailed in the TAE10 Training Package. All learner activities and assessment tasks have been mapped against the units of competence and meet the performance criteria, critical aspects of evidence, and context of assessment to achieve competency.

Price

We charge only $1450 for Blended delivery and $1175 for Self Paced delivery. That is less than a quarter of some providers! We took a view about pricing that was consistent with one of the key drivers of the Federal Government which is make learning available to everyone. We are currently offering Full Delivery TAE40110 courses for a Special Introductory price of $1995. Prices vary for upgrade and/or RPL enrolments.

Flexible

At HBA we have delivered this course to more Learners than you can imagine, it is what we do for a living and it is our specialty. Therefore you would imagine we know the subject matter pretty well. Using our intimate knowledge of the course we have developed a course that is user friendly, can be delivered in several ways, and has been targeted for flexible delivery options in this ever busy world we live in.

If you choose our Self Paced delivery, that means you can do the entire course at home. It is ideally suited to Learners who are not able to take time off work.
