The TAA04 Training Package is the smallest Training Package in VET. It consists of only two qualifications, the first is the well known and extremely popular TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and as you know this is a mandatory requirement for all Trainers and Assessors within VET. The second qualification is the TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment and interestingly, there is no mandated requirement for an individual to hold this qualification yet many of our Learners go on to undertake the Diploma.
We are often asked what the difference is between the two qualifications and put simply, the Cert IV is about doing Training and Assessment and the Diploma is about managing a unit or business that does Training and Assessment. It provides a much higher level of understanding about how to manage an RTO. Strictly speaking and from our perspective, all owners and General managers of RTOs and Managers of Training & Development Units in Enterprise should hold the Diploma. As an aside, all of HBA’s management team is required to undertake the qualification.
When, Where and Cost?
The Diploma is only delivered via Self Paced Delivery and, as you would expect, our team of managers will assist you through the course. Typically there are about 350 hours of work for most Learners although we often find that owners of RTOs that have been audited by their State Training Authority and given a Compliant report are usually able to provide sufficient evidence to be Recognised through all or most of the qualification.
It is a pre-requisite that anyone who undertakes the Diploma must hold TAA40104 and if you did your TAA40104 with HBA we will only charge you only $1,000 for the Diploma qualification. If you did your TAA40104 elsewhere then we will charge you $1150.
